The Subscription Item houses a number of fields. Not all of these fields are required to generate Charges, but it is important to understand key features that make up this record.
1. Associated Records
This information provides a breadcrumb trail back to the records related to the Subscription Item. This includes the Subscription that houses the Subscription Item, the Customer Record associated with the Subscription, and the NetSuite Item record chosen for charging and billing.
2. Item used on the Subscription Item
This Item will populate on the Charge Table below. Note that the Item charged can be manipulated using Charge Item Map fields or for Usage-based Rate Types, multi-charge stream configuration.
3. Required Fields are dependent on the Rate Type selected
Required fields will vary depending on the Rate Type. In this example, we’ve configured a Fixed (Recurring) & Usage (Variable) hybrid Rate Type which requires more configuration than other options such as One-Time Charges. To learn more about Rate Types and required fields here.
4. Post- Rating reviewing Subscription Item Charges.
Charges will populate in the Subscription Item’s Charge Table. This will provide a snapshot of all Charges, included billed and pending billing. Charges are calculated based on the values set on the Subscription Item and any other supplied pricing logic. Bill dates are also listed here. To learn more about Pricing, review the Pricing Options guide here.
