New Features/Improvements (4)
New Feature: ZoneBilling AI Assistant (ZB-2543)
The ZoneBilling AI Assistant is a ‘chatbot’ designed to assist users with questions about ZoneBilling. It uses conversational artificial intelligence (GenAI) to understand user queries and provide helpful responses, without the user leaving the ZoneBilling screen. It provides natural-language responses compiled from the ZoneBilling Knowledge Base and publicly-available NetSuite knowledge. It does not have access to sensitive or confidential data and cannot disclose such information.
This feature is freely included in ZoneBilling, but access must be provisioned by the Zone & Co team. Please contact our support team to request access. Once provisioned, enable the Assistant by navigating to Setup > ZoneBilling Setup > ZAB Preferences and select ‘Enable Assistant’.
When enabled, the Assistant is available to all users, and accessible on all ZoneBilling record pages.
For more information, please refer to the knowledge base.
Enhancement to ZAB API to Accommodate NetSuite Change (ZB-2757)
This enhancement aligns with NetSuite recommendations to define a Content-Type header. As a result, the Content-Type: application/json header will now be included in every ZAB API response, ensuring that all functionality remains intact. No functional changes have been made with this update.
Enhancement to Update Revenue Arrangements (ZB-2500)
Previously, the Update Revenue Arrangement process assessed Revenue Details without Revenue Elements only if they were created or modified in the last 90 days. With this enhancement, any Revenue Details without a Revenue Element will now be submitted to the Update Revenue Arrangements process for Element creation. There are no changes to how existing Revenue Elements requiring updates are evaluated.
Enhancement to Evaluate Revenue Elements Needing Update (ZB-1342)
This enhancement further optimizes the Update Revenue Arrangements process in extremely high data volume scenarios by avoiding native NetSuite Map/Reduce limitations for Time and Script Execution, which previously resulted in an error preventing the processing of all Revenue Elements. This enhancement returns a message in the ‘ZAB Revenue Management Plugin’ script logs alerting the user when the threshold is reached and that additional records are pending. This prompts the user to re-run the Update Revenue Arrangements process to successfully update the remaining data.
Product Maintenance & Fixes (7)
Issue Leveraging Handlebars on Billing Profile (ZB-2774)
Resolves an issue occurring when using a Billing Profile with multiple Sort orders defined and a Header containing handlebars. In niche scenarios, not all Headers were displayed on the resulting Transaction.
Issue Leveraging Subscription Item Bill To Customer with Prepaid Subscription (ZB-2760)
Resolves an issue occurring when utilizing a Prepaid Amount Subscription Item and the Usage Subscription Item depleting against it specified a different ‘Bill To Customer (Line Override)’. In niche scenarios, the Create Transactions process did not properly evaluate the Unit Adjustment and One-Time Charges related to the Bill To Customer, and the Charges remained in a ‘pending billing’ state. This fix ensures that all eligible Charges are appropriately evaluated and billed.
Issue with Price Book and 'Sorted' Pricing Type Calculation (ZB-2756)
Resolves an issue occurring when leveraging a Price Book in conjunction with the ‘Sorted’ Pricing Type Calculation (selected on the Rate Plan). By default, the ‘Sorted’ Pricing Type will evaluate the usage data in order by Effective Date (for Count usage) or Date (for Ad Hoc or Consumption usage). In niche scenarios when Count data crossed multiple Charge Periods, the date sort order was not respected in subsequent months.
Issue Generating Consolidated Charge Files (ZB-2718)
Resolves an issue occurring when leveraging the Charge Consolidation feature where the data file was not attached to the Consolidated Charge if ‘Generate Backup File’ was not selected on the Rate Plan Search Map.
Issues Leveraging Chained Execute Rating, Create Transactions Automation (ZB-2686)
Resolves an issue occurring in the chained ‘Execute Rating, Create Transactions’ Automation when leveraging a Subscription-based search. Previously, if the search included a Subscription without any usage-based Subscription Items, it returned an error, preventing Charges from being billed. This update ensures that Subscriptions not eligible for Rating can still be billed, if applicable.
Issue Updating Sourced Fields on Ad Hoc Charges (ZB-2645)
Resolves an issue occurring when leveraging an Ad Hoc Rate Plan where sourced fields on the Ad Hoc Charges did not automatically update when the corresponding field value on the related record was changed.
Number Formatting Preference Issue on Renewal Items (ZB-2632)
Previously, certain company and user number format preference combinations caused Renewal Items to be generated incorrectly when periods and commas were not evaluated appropriately. This has been resolved so that all number formats are compatible with renewals functionality.
