Per Term
The Per Term field on the Subscription Item specifies what time period the given Quantity and Rate represents.
For example, if the Customer is being quoted in months, but is billed annually, the Per Term should be set to Months and a Charge Schedule of Annual.
Term Multiplier
The Term Multiplier is used in conjunction with the Per Term and Rate to calculate the Amount on the Charge. The Term Multiplier is the number of Terms within the Charge Period for that Subscription Item.
Example:
- You have a one-year Subscription Item with Per Term of Months and a Charge Schedule of Annual
- The Term Multiplier is 12 because there are 12 months (or terms) within that Charge Period.
- If you updated the Per Term on the Subscription Item to Quarters, the Term Multiplier is changed to 4.
- The Amount on the ensuing Charge is calculated by Quantity * Term Multiplier * Rate. See example below:
