Ad Hoc (As Needed) Data

Rate Plan Search Maps for Ad Hoc scenarios are similar to other Usage Type configurations, but with some additional field requirements.

To create the Rate Plan Search Map:

1. Go to Setup > Zone Advanced Billing Maps/Definitions > Rate Plan Search Map > New
2. Name the Rate Plan Search Map.
3. Select the Search that will be providing Ad Hoc Data.
   • When building the Search, the Search Type should be ‘ZAB Ad Hoc Data’ or any other record representing Ad Hoc Data.
   • The Search cannot have summarized results (or summary criteria). Leverage Count/Ad Hoc Grouping and Count/Ad Hoc Aggregation for those needs.
4. Select Quantity Search as the Available For Search Type
5. Under Field Mapping, select the Search Map Type ‘Ad Hoc’.
6. To the far right, populate the following the Ad Hoc Data field mappings:
   1. Ad Hoc Date Filter Field = Date
   2. Ad Hoc Record Subscription Item = Subscription Item
   3. Ad Hoc Record Charge Field = Charges
      1. This field must be present on the record used as the Saved Search Type. It cannot be a join.
7. Under Search Mapping ‘Quantity Column In Search Results’, specify which column in Search results represents Quantity (e.g. column 8 in search results provides these values).
8. Add Bill Date to Column Mapping (optional)
9. Add Filter Mapping
10. Save
