Shipping and Billing preferences can be overridden on individual Charges. Navigate to the Charge > Addresses Subtab to override previous settings from the Subscription or Subscription item.
Bill To Address (Alternate Source)
Bill To Address (Alternate Source) can be set on the Charge record to override any previous settings (on the Customer, Subscription, or Subscription Item). The population of multiple Bill To Addresses will force the Charges to split into separate Transactions since a Transaction can only have one Bill To address. The dropdown displays the Address Labels from all Addresses in the system.
Shipping Method (Alternate Source)
Shipping Method can be selected on the Charge record as an “alternate source” and will post through to the billing transaction. Depending on whether you have "Enable Line Item Shipping" selected, the Shipping Method (Alternate Source) value will appear in the header of the Transaction or on each line of the Transaction.
Anything entered directly on the Charge will overwrite a Shipping Method selected on the corresponding Subscription or Subscription Item. A common use case is when Usage Data are brought in with the Shipping Method already assigned.
Note: Ensure the Shipping Method you have selected is compatible with the Subsidiary and Shipping Carrier that will apply to the Transaction; otherwise, an error will be thrown or the field will be null during the Create Transaction process.
Custom Ship To Address
Custom Ship To Addresses can be entered directly on the Charge and do not require the address to be stored in the Customer Address Book.
Depending on whether you have "Enable Line Item Shipping" selected, the Shipping Method (Alternate Source) value will appear in the header of the Transaction or on each line of the Transaction.
Anything entered directly on the Charge will overwrite a Shipping Method selected on the corresponding Subscription or Subscription Item
Enable Charge Custom Ship To Addresses
Note: In order to use this feature you will need to have enabled the ZAB Preference for ‘Enable Custom Ship To Addresses on Charges’. To enable this feature, go to:
- Setup > Zone Advanced Billing Setup > Preferences
- On your ZAB Preferences record, select the checkbox ‘Enable Custom Ship To Addresses on Charges’
